Finally!

I finally got to bake! My heart was so happy! I will include pictures and links when I can. I dont make up my own recipes *yet* and I like to give credit where credit is due.

German Chocolate cake with traditional icing (coconut pecan) layers and ganache with pecans tossed on top. It was really good! The recipe called for a sugar syrup run soak. I think that added a bunch of flavor. Lots and Lots of steps to this one but I'm happy with the result!

T The local HS football team is having a great year and going to state! I made Martha Stewart Marble cupcakes with White Chocolate buttercream which I found on the white chocolate box. Then I made the cute little chocolates and piped an A and laces.


YEA! My food blog finally features food. I might do a cupcake challenge this month. I'm nervous but excited!

MIA, Already! Yes its true. My determination to write everyday has slowly faded. I kept telling myself to blog but I'm exhausted. We are doing a whole house remodel and frankly its exhausting. I tried to do that AND Zumba 3 days a week. That lasted exactly one week. And I'm still pooped. OK I know, cry me a river right? A girl has to complain a little even when everything is going her way. Its in our bi-laws or something (where the heck did I put those!)

On a higher note we are redoing my kitchen so when I finally get back to baking I'll have a great kitchen to do it in! We recently got a bed bath and beyond in town. By recently I mean last Saturday. I couldn't stay out of it, its like heaven for a baker/wanna be homemaker. I happen to have Thursday off. I also happen to have totally blocked that entire day off to go there. Funny Coincidence.

At any rate, once I get into full swing and done drywalling I'll be around :)

Thankful Thursday

I'm thankful for my job. The real one not the fake one. The one I go to 9-5 Monday thur Friday. So its not exciting. When have you ever thought, man insurance, thats EXACTLY what I want to do. But it helps pay my bills and I love my bosses, not so bad!

Wonderful Day

Maybe we need to rename Wednesday Wonderful day. Why? Well first off its the middle of the week. How lame is the middle of the workweek. No weekend in sight (I totally start they whole "its almost the weekend" on Thursday morning knowing full well its not.) The weekend has been over for quite some time so you don't have that "I'm so rested" high that you can sometimes achieve on Monday morning. Nope, its just a day, the bump of the week. It also doesn't hurt that Wednesday and Wonderful have the same number of letters.

In other news I sign up for classes tonight (like at midnight). Be ready for several useless trivia that you never knew you never knew (nor do you need to know).

I plan to use this blog mostly to showcase my baking portfolio. Sadly, I haven't gotten to bake in a few weeks due to some major remodel projects. I will be baking on Sunday however and I'm fairly sure we are going to do a pumpkin cupcake with fluffy cream cheese icing and fondant leaves in fall colors. They should be pretty :)
