Kids scare me

They do, I wont deny it and my friends will tell you the same thing. I dont ask to hold other peoples kids. If they are babies I'd actually rather not, and as a parent you should feel the same way. I dropped a puppy and it broke its leg when I was 8. I dont want that or worse to happen again. So yeah I dont hold babies in general and if I do the mother MUST be right next to me and NO I wont stand up with it. That being said I still like kids. They are funny and cute and smart and full of this awesome energy that I love being around. I'd LOVE to be a teacher. I've always wanted to be a teacher and I think I'd make a fantastic teacher. Yesterday I got to try it out. I taught a group of 5th graders all day. 9am to 3:30pm. I dont have pics to share due to not wanting to show kids faces to the rest of the known world but it was a blast. We played games, ate popcorn, told jokes, and LEARNED. It was awesome and I cant wait to do it again. If you get the chance to be part of a kids life for a day be sure to try it out.

In other news I didnt get JACK done this weekend on any projects. It was a rockin weekend with lots of fun stuff and good times with friends but no crafts done. I wont promise that again ha.

Time isnt always Kind

I'm getting older. I wouldn't call myself OLD but I'm getting there. I was checkin myself out looking at myself today in the car and realized.....I have CROWS FEET! I bet you don't believe me. Heck I hardly believe me.

Ladies that a lot of wrinkles for 28. How can life me so CRUEL! Wrinkles and zits, at the same time. That's pretty unfair. And dark under eye circles that I've had my whole life. That's rotten. Me thinks I might be watching too much nip/tuck :)

This weekend I get to do lots of projects and I promise lots of post:

• I have to get ready for my JA day a the local elementary school. I will be teaching 5th grades about economics. Bless their poor souls.
• I need to make goodies for Mikes coworkers before they riot
• I need to get out my sewing machine and play with it. I need to make my nephew a baby quilt before hes no longer a baby ha

That's about it. I might try a few bloggie things I've seen. I cant help but wonder if I too can make those pretty things.

Feel the Heat!

Wow, how times have changed. Gone are the days of the tanning bed that smelled like coconut and BO, where your tan took 100 visits at 25 minutes a visit and they cost you exactly $1 a visit. You laid on a hard cold bed and your back was much closer than your front and you ended up with tan lamp lines on your bottom. They looked something like this:

I need a tan fast for a wedding so I called my favorite salon. They have a "Turbo" bed that will tan (and with my luck give me cancer) in half the time. Let me introduce you to her:

Mine doesn't look quite as cool but pretty close. You lay on an acrylic bed that's raised from the bottom and molded to be more like a body shape. Your even from the bottom to the top. Mine doesn't have a fan on the end, it has fans all though out that you can adjust and a special fan just for the face with a special tan lamp that you can adjust for your face. SMANCY. It cost $1 a minute/ max time per visit is 12 minutes. I went for 6 today and felt the "warmth". What I wont do for my best and longest known friend.


I still haven't started on my projects with the goodies I got at the garage sale. There's another big one this weekend so I might have even more awesome things to show you!

Weekends

I love the weekend. Heck, I live for the weekend. I get to spend every second with the hubs or doing something fun on my own terms. Nothing better than that. This weekend I went to the fairgrounds for a huge rummage sale. It was awesome. Passed up the good deals that I should have locked onto but that's OK, you win some you lose some. I got two tea cup and plate sets for $2.00. I plan to make bird feeders for the porch (I'll have pics for that process). I also picked up 5 very neat buttons for crafting. I'll also have some tutorials for that as well. All in all good fun for a few hours. I stopped by Costco and bought more things I didn't need, had lunch alone at Olive Garden, then came home to my husband and cooked and cleaned for a get together that was a lot of fun as well. Made for a long, but great day.

Today I didn't do anything. Well I checked on my friends cats because shes out of town but that's just about it. It was relaxing though. And I didn't spend all day watching Buffy and Angel (long story I'll eventually share.) How did your weekend go?

I dont work well under stress

Timelines, deadlines, themes....I get bugged by them. I really wanted to blog by theme. I really really did. I wanted to do a food day and a shopping day and a workout day and a...and a....and a....HOWEVER I find I'm not blogging at all because I can't figure how what to blog thats themed. Therefore I am declaring this blog a

NO THEME ZONE

This weekend there is a huge yard sale going on at the fairgrounds. I hope to find some deals to repurpose. Also hitting the craft store, I feel a craft bug coming on. And I'll post on it whenever, no theme needed :) (funny I totally sneezed after typing that, maybe its not just a craft bug haha)

So I Missed Sunday

It was a really busy weekend folks, good but busy. Went to a gun show, them shopping, then dinner with new friends. Then sunday and had a jewlery class and made a fantastic necklace. Pictures to follow at another time. Today is supposed to be about food.

I was also sick Sunday. So I didnt even want to think of food.

Today for lunch I had this:

Tomorrow I'm having coffee with a friend and eatting really horrible for me muffins. :) Its ok.

This week we are going to have pulled chicken bbq sandwiches as our new recipe. I'll let you know how it goes.

Ok that was my weak attempt at pirate humor. Its time for Treasure Thursday.

I'm sad to announce that there is no treasure this week. Once I figured out what places I wanted to go they were closed. Next week I'll have a few good hunts as well as a list of places I went and some pictures of the truely odd (if I find any, and you know I will!).

I got in my 45 minute walk in my new Asics Gel Kahana (LOVE these shoes, so comfortable, I might get on Zappos and by another color, these came from Famous Footwear). I streched a little then did an small ab workout and a little arms. Then I ate my breakfast feeling satisfied that its a start. I'm so shocked I didn't sleep in. Now off to do what I'm home to do now....and maybe a little laundry!

Changes

Well I'm back, finally. I've been ubber busy but I want to blog again. Still doing the new year new me thing. Did the 2nd chem peel but layed off it because it was really drying me out.

I think I need to blog more. The writing helps me stay focused. I also think I'm going to start having a few theme days with lots of pictures. I miss hearing from friends and family and pictures help people see what my life is like here. I also want to track my workouts and who better to be accountable to then everyone who reads this. (or no one who reads this, I'll take whatever). I'm going to blog Sundays, tuesdays, and Thursdays. Supper Sundays will outline my nutrition goals for the week, any new recipes I'll be trying, and what was good and bad about the week before. Trail Tuesdays will talk about my workouts. I hope to include pic of trails that I will be going on that week or pics of my walks. I will also be doing Zumba 3 times a week (well at least twice). Treasure hunt Thursday will consist of whats happening at the house and with my hobbies. I plan to decorate my house on a dime so I will be going to lots of 2nd hand stores (I'll post pics of some of the odd things I find there lol) as well as hitting clearance racks and showing you any repurposed items I make. Thursdays will probably be my favorite days lol. I'll totally sprinkle in party and get together pics along with stories. I love reading about other peoples lives. I hope you'll enjoy reading, seeing, and experiancing mine :)

Ouch

So this year is all about taking care of Amanda. I decided to first and formost start with working out then moved on to my skin, hair, and nail. Funny, its actually in that order. Today I got a chemical peel. Um yeah its a little irritating. And she did a few "extractions". Thats derm speak for popping zits and blackheads. Ouch. Apparently I'll probably get a few new breakouts in the coming days but it should start to clear my skin up. I schedualed a follow up appointment for 4 weeks from now so I dont chicken out. It takes work to look good! No pain, no gain, all the way around. I got a new face cleaner and serum that was way expensive. But if it works it works. I'll try anything once. I have a hair appointment Thursday
